Infidelity does happen in marriages. It leaves the spouse shattered. There is a feeling of breach of faith and trust. How can this be regained? If the marriage is important, then certain steps should be taken to regain the trust of the cheated partner. It will not be easy, but it should be done.
When does this happen? When the parenting styles adopted by both the parents are dissimilar. One parent believes in democratic parenting, the other believes in permissive. Democratic parenting is where there are rules in the house which are age specific as well as general, which co-exist with encouragement and respect for the child’s feelings and decisions. Here the child learns to be independent as well as appreciative of the rules in life. They are for his safety. The parents will not hesitate to enforce the rules. The penalties are age specific, not big in comparison with the rule, and the child is also involved with laying the penalty. This style also instills values in the child. (more…)

What is this syndrome? How does it affect a person?
This the situation when a person, mostly the wife and mother, faces in midlife. When her children go away, either to study abroad, get married or take up a job in another city or country. She finds herself left with an empty nest. No one to really take care off.
